Warranty covers manufacturing defects and premature cell capacity failure. Valid from date of original purchase invoice. 1. 2-Year Replacement Warranty: Battery replaced free of charge if capacity falls below 80% of rated capacity within 2 years under normal use. 2. 1-Year Extended Warranty: Purchasable within 30 days of standard warranty expiry. Covers the same terms for an additional 12 months. 3. Warranty is void if: battery has been physically damaged, submerged in water, modified or opened by unauthorized personnel, or charged with a non-VD approved charger. 4. Normal capacity degradation of up to 20% over the warranty period is expected and not covered. 5. Warranty claim requires original proof of purchase and vehicle registration. 6. Battery must be returned to an authorized VD Motors service centre for inspection and claim processing. 7. VD Motors reserves the right to repair, replace, or provide equivalent credit at its discretion.
For optimal performance and longest battery life, follow these thermal guidelines: 1. Optimal charging temperature: 10°C to 40°C. Do not charge below 5°C or above 45°C. 2. Optimal discharging temperature: -10°C to 55°C. 3. Cool-down period: Allow battery to rest for 15–20 minutes after a long ride before connecting the charger. 4. Avoid direct sunlight: Never charge or store vehicle in direct sunlight for extended periods. 5. Summer precautions: Park in shade wherever possible. Battery surface temperature above 50°C triggers BMS thermal protection mode. 6. Winter operation: In cold weather below 5°C, battery may show 10–15% reduced range until it warms up. This is normal. 7. Storage: If not using for more than 2 weeks, store at 40–60% charge in a cool, dry location. 8. Emergency: If you notice swelling, burning smell, or abnormal heat — stop using immediately and contact VD Motors support.
The VDG SWIFT 36 is optimized for: • Extended daily commuting: 30–70 km per day with confidence to spare • Riders who want a buffer — arrive at 30% rather than 5% • Office/college commuting on longer routes (40–60 km round trip) • Delivery services with moderate loads and multiple daily trips Not recommended for: • Modified vehicles with higher-powered motors (>1000W) • Sustained high-speed riding above 45 km/h for extended distances
1. Always use the provided VDG charger (54.6V / 6A) or a VD-approved replacement charger only. 2. Plug into a standard 5-amp 3-pin socket. No special wiring or installation required. 3. Full charge time: approximately 6 hours from empty to 100%. 4. Charge in a dry, ventilated area. Avoid charging in direct sunlight or enclosed spaces. 5. Do not leave the battery on charge for more than 14 hours continuously. 6. For daily use: charging to 80–90% extends battery life significantly. 7. Long storage (over 1 month): store at 50% charge, top up every 3 months. 8. Avoid deep discharge: charge when indicator shows 15% or lower.
